Netbook | Samsung NC20
Our recommendation when it comes to Netbook's is the Samsung NC20. We like Samsung because they offer excellent overall build quality, a really good specification and most importantly we like the full size keyboard. Most other Netbook's have a small keyboard which can be difficult to use if your producing extensive reports or bashing out a lengthy email. Our recommendation would be to go for a version running Windows rather than Linux because you will find it much easier to use.
Business Computer | Dell Vostro Series or HP dx Series
You want your business computer to simply work. You don't want to messing around with complicated hardware or outrageous designs. We like offerings from both Dell and HP. The Dell Vostro range offer overall excellent value, and when you have the requirement for Microsoft Office you can take advantage of their discounted rates on this product. HP also offer excellent value, particularly with their DX series of computers. Some of these can be picked up for as little as £250, dependant on the specification of course. Like Dell computers you can also take advantage of discounted rates on Microsoft Office. You won't find much between the Dell's and HP's. Overall we would say that the Dell's offer slightly better value whereas the HP's offer slightly better build quality. As a rule of thumb, don't buy anything with a Celeron processor, we promise you will regret it.
Business Laptop | Dell Vostro Series or HP ProBook Range
As with the Business Computers, we again recommend both Dell and HP.
The Dell Vostro laptop range offer unrivalled value for money on their range of laptops. Particularly their 17" models really can't be beaten on price. The Dell Vostro laptops aren't pretty to look at, but they aren't meant to be, they are good at business.
We also like the HP (and Compaq) business laptops. The new ProBook range are superbly put together and are blessed with overall excellent components. The HP laptops do look a little better than the Dell Vostro range, but they still aren't exactly pretty.
Overall you can't really go wrong with either brand, it's simply down to your requirements. As with the business computers though, don't waste your money on anything with a Celeron processor.

If your looking for a Small Business Server we recommend you look no further than the HP Proliant range. They offer a number of different specifications from entry level to high end big boy solutions. No matter what your budget is, there will be a HP server which suits your needs. We like the excellent build quality and overall superb reliability. You will find HP servers at Lucid Towers and you will find HP servers with the majority of our customers.
